NORML: National Organization that Reforms Marijuana Laws
National NORML Mission Statement
NORML’s mission is to move public opinion sufficiently to legalize the responsible use of cannabis by adults, remove criminal penalties and stigma, and serve as an advocate assuring consumers have access to high-quality cannabis that is safe, convenient, and affordable. Since its founding in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose cannabis prohibition and favor an end to the practice of arresting cannabis consumers. A nonprofit public-interest advocacy group, NORML represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who use cannabis responsibly.
There is a robust network of state and local chapters across the country. On the state level, California NORML works with legislators, provides resources, and publishes newsletters updating members across the state. Since 2003 OC NORML has been working on the local level to provide education and consumer advocacy to the Orange County community.
Community Driven Non-Profit
Since its founding, OC NORML has held consistent public meetings where advocates and supporters can learn about the current status of cannabis laws, discuss news and events, hear from special guest speakers, and network with other like-minded individuals. OC NORML organizes its own special events, participates in the cannabis industry, and community events. Our board of Directors speak regularly at community events, seminars and attends local city council meetings.
