NORML: National Organization that Reforms Marijuana Laws

National NORML was founded in 1970 by Keith Stroup and continues its work to advocate for cannabis consumers at the federal level. NORML has dozens of state and local chapters across the country that work on the local level to advocate for sensible cannabis policy. OC NORML works hand-in-hand with our state chapter CA NORML and focuses on the Southern California region and Orange County specifically.

Orange County NORML Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a resource center for those curious, consuming, medicating, or building in the cannabis space. Established in 2003 our goal remains to be the all-inclusive bridge to the cannabis community.  A volunteer-led nonprofit that believes in cannabis legalization through policy change, education, and connection.

Community Driven Non-Profit

Since its founding, OC NORML has held consistent public meetings where advocates and supporters can learn about the current status of cannabis laws, discuss news and events, hear from special guest speakers, and network with other like-minded individuals. OC NORML organizes its own special events, participates in the cannabis industry and community events. Our board of Directors speaks regularly at community events, seminars and attends city council meetings to consistently share the OC NORML mission.

F.A.C.E.S. Campaign

The F.A.C.E. (Fostering Awareness through Cannabis Education)  Campaign is a free educational community program. The purpose is to educate residents on the history of cannabis, medical benefits, current laws and regulations, and answer questions residents have about cannabis in their community.

Cannabis Licensing Task Force

The Bridge of Communication and Understanding

The Commercial Cannabis Licensing Task Force is a subcommittee of OC NORML designed to educate elected and city staff on reasonable cannabis policy and best practices. The goal of the Task Force is to expand cannabis licensing to allow for the creation of more job opportunities, diversity, and to help municipalities raise much-needed tax revenue, while never forgetting the consumer and patients.  OC NORML is not a special interest group; we work towards making the industry fair and equitable for all.
